Flying Bee Farms Dressage Clinic
On Sunday April 2, 2023, we had a Dressage Fix A Test clinic. It was conducted by Margaret K Boyce - FEI Competitor/Coach/Trainer United State Equestrian Federation - Licensed Official “R” Dressage and “r” Western Dressage Judge Equestrian Canada - Certified Licensed Dressage Coach, “Medium” Dressage and Para Dressage.

The Fix A Test clinic started by the rider riding a test which Margaret judged and scored. Margaret then discussed the test with the rider, explaining what were the positive or negative issues in the test which affected the final score. After that, she gave the rider a mini lesson using classical dressage theory and exercises in an “easy to understand” method.

There were nine participants in the clinic, and it was a huge success! Riders all performed Intro Test C coming out of the winter months. Lessons were great working on impulsion and transitions and of course our medium walks! Grace Block performed her first Leadline Test to represent the Therapeutic end. We also had some outside horses and riders come to the clinic. Margaret was wonderful and very educational as to what we needed to work on. Flying Bee Farms will be having Margaret back soon.

Anne-Marie Mott, a boarder and one of our students, did her second Dressage freestyle music arrangement for a Para Dressage equestrian in Canada. Besides her equestrian interests, Anne-Marie is an accomplished musician. Para-equestrian is an equestrian sport for athletes with physical or visual impairments. It includes two events: para-equestrian dressage and para-equestrian driving. The riders or drivers are classified into different grades based on their functional abilities.
